WORKSHOP

Can you keep a secret?

Impro and Tarot
(Theater)
(PT/EN)

  • ARTISTS IN GENERAL (Professional Artists or Artists in Training without specific experience in Impro)

  • IMPRO BEGINNER (People with some experience with Impro courses and/or presentations.),

  • ADVANCED/PROFESSIONAL IN IMPRO (People with some years of experience and/or career in Impro.)

Tarot works with archetypes of images. The workshop uses images and cycles of tarot journeys to create new worlds shrouded in mythology and mysticism based on imagery.

They propose a practical approach to improvisational game structure and the creation of instant characters from archetypes.

SHOW DIRECTION

Inspired by the work of Peter Brook and Jacques Lecoq, this format uses space and the idea of “body as space” to create images, characters and narratives. It is a discovery of how space itself can be a game and create new worlds. How limits can be tools.

The carpet game is based on the idea of travel and adventure, exploring spaces and worlds through imagination. The idea is to explore limits as catalysts for improvisation, highlighted by physicality and theatricality, and to make the audience work by imagining and perceiving how theatrical codes create new worlds.

TALK

"The Directing Role of Those Who Improvise" (PT)

Those who improvise, act, write and direct. If we truly take on these roles, we take on their responsibility as well. As Director (Staging) we think about aesthetics, discourse, movement, and all of this instantly and collectively. Let's talk about this and how we do it, and what imaginary and real worlds we are creating between us.

This is the theme of my doctoral thesis: Direction carried out by those who improvise in the act of improvisation: its possibilities, responsibilities and possible tools to help us understand how to play with greater presence.
