WORKSHOP

Can you keep a secret?

Silence and Improv

  • It's for EVERYONE (with or without experience)

Silence and Impro aligns with the theme of Imaginary Worlds by exploring how the absence of words can expand the creation of fictional universes in theatrical improvisation. Silence, far from being a void, becomes a fertile territory for the imagination, allowing gestures, glances and pauses to construct entire realities without the need for words.

With this workshop, I want to experience the impact of silence in improvisation as a tool to deepen narratives, strengthen active listening and expand the expressive possibilities of participants. The goal is to lead improvisers to realize that the construction of imaginary worlds does not depend only on the text, but also on presence, attention to others and collective creation from what is unsaid.

Thus, the workshop connects to the theme by revealing that Imaginary Worlds arise not only from speech, but also from the space between words.

MIXED TEAM WORKSHOP

What if fantastic worlds were just a step away? In Entre Mundos, improvisers create never-before-seen stories set in extraordinary realities, where mysterious creatures, impossible technologies and unknown forces exist. But at the center of it all are human relationships – encounters, challenges and emotions that connect us, regardless of the universe. No two performances are the same, because everything is created on the spot, before the audience’s eyes.

Between Worlds dives directly into the concept of Imaginary Worlds, as each scene is born from new universes, created on the spot by the improvisers and the audience. However, the show is not limited to the visual or the fantastic: it questions how human beings (or non-humans) relate to each other within these realities. What remains the same, even when everything changes?

TALK

"Fantastic Worlds, Human Relations: The Essence of Impro" (PT)

Even when we are immersed in fantastical worlds and imaginary universes, in the end, everything revolves around our human relationships. I will share my insight into how, even in stories of science fiction, fantasy or any other genre, what really connects the audience to the scene are the emotions, choices and interactions between the characters. Even in worlds with strange rules or extraordinary beings, it is the human connection that makes the story resonate. I will explore how interpersonal relationships are the central point, regardless of the setting or the extravagant situations we create. Because, at the end of the day, human relationships are the most fantastic worlds we can explore on stage.
