We all have secrets, hidden motivations, unspoken thoughts and emotions that drive our actions. But how can we use these in our improvisations?
Together, we’ll explore how hidden information can add layers of tension, deepen character dynamics, and raise the stakes of scenes. Through subtlety, subtext, and suspense, we’ll explore how to create richer, more engaging stories that keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

This workshop delves into the hidden layers of our characters’ worlds—exploring what goes unsaid and the secrets that shape our actions.
By focusing on subtlety and suspense, we will create moments that immerse the audience in an invisible world of tension and mystery. The dynamics between what is seen and what remains hidden enrich the worlds we build on stage, making them more complex and engaging.

The goal of this workshop is to help participants understand how hidden motivations and unspoken truths can drive more dynamic and layered improvisation. Participants will learn how to incorporate subtlety and suspense to build tension, create conflict, and develop richer stories.
By harnessing the power of the unrevealed, improvisers will unlock new ways to raise the stakes and create worlds that vibrate with mystery and intrigue.

MIXED TEAM WORKSHOP

“Can We Have a Word? (The Game Show)” is a fast-paced, word-driven improv competition where two teams turn language into laughs.
Using words derived from a single audience suggestion, players face dynamic improvisational challenges, creating scenes and worlds where language distorts reality. Interactive, unpredictable and full of playful creativity, this show connects words and imagination!

This show transforms language into a world-building tool. With each round, words shape new realities, redefining meanings and creating new vocabularies—enabling players to build imaginative worlds that would otherwise not exist. The show explores how language is not just a means of communication, but a gateway to infinite possibilities—making it a perfect fit with the festival’s theme.

With this proposal, my goal is to encourage improvisers to use language as a creative force, challenging them to generate, reinterpret, and incorporate words in unexpected ways. The show encourages quick thinking, collaboration, and playful storytelling, while making world-building accessible to all levels of experience. By combining structured competition with imaginative freedom, the show invites performers and audiences to see words not just as tools, but as portals to new realities.

The result of this workshop will be presented in the form of a show:

TALK

Managing the chaos of an improvised scene can be overwhelming. In this talk, I will explore how the traditional use of stage directions (Didaskalias) in theatre can be adapted to improv. By incorporating elements such as character intentions, spatial arrangements, and action cues, we can collectively create dramaturgy that adds structure and depth to our scenes. This external perspective, taken from the playwright’s role, allows improvisers to better manage the many elements at play, encouraging collaboration and making the process of creating rich, layered stories more fluid and manageable.
